The Taiwan basketball scene is full of happenings this summer. Receiving strong support from Nathan G.H. Chow, Chairman of Shih Hsin University, AVerMedia, AVer Information, and Absolute 3X3 (FIBA 3x3 promoter in Taiwan), Chiang-Shuang Chen, the top high school basketball player in Taiwan, will be heading to the United States for a month-long training trip in late June. Four other players, Chun-Sheng Chang, Ting-Chun Wang, Sheng-Hsin Li, and Hsiang-Jung Chen are also going on the same trip. They are expected to travel to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York to undergo intense training at the NBA level.
The training program is planned by the GATE Sports Agency, who will provide a customized training routine for the five promising players. The program consists of four main parts: full-day training camp from the IMPACT Basketball Academy, techinques training with NBA trainer Mike Atkinson, basketball arena and school visits, and participation in street basketball competitions on off-training days.
IMPACT, located in Las Vegas, is one of the best US training academies for professional players. Founded by trainer Joe Abunassar, the team from IMPACT is an expert at systematic modular training providing customized training courses to players based on their age group and skill levels. Mike Atkinson, a well-known NBA sports performance coach, will personally plan and lead the techniques training sessions for this trip. Mike has a long-term working relationship with renowned NBA players such as Kevin Love, Donovan Mitchell, Carmelo Anthony, Aaron Gordon, and more. In addition, well-known trainers from the different American Basketball Leagues might also join the training sessions, providing an opportunity for the players to get acquainted with a wide range of training methods.
Besides techniques, group, agility, shooting, psychology, muscle strength, and physical fitness training sessions, the players will also undergo nutrition counseling and physical therapy to help improve their overall playing standard.
With blessing, we hope that these rising stars will fully devote themselves to the 30-day training program. We would also like to extend our special thanks to Taobao International Travel Service Kaohsiung Iron Man Professional Basketball Team, Senior Vice President of HP International Wen-Chien Chien, and Mr. Chien-Hsiung Liao of Kaixu Recreation Development Co., Ltd., Hao Yu International Company, GATE Sports Agency, and more for their generous support.
