1 What is “party chat” and why special setup is needed?
Party chat is voice chat between players (console party, PS Party, Xbox Party).
When streaming or recording with a capture card, you often want the viewers to hear party chat, your local headset to still hear it. The GC553G2 captures video/audio from the console; proper audio routing  approach is usually needed.

2. What cables and configuration are needed?

Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 (GC553G2) with HDMI input/output (pass-through if needed)
USB-C to C or USB-C to A cable connecting GC553G2 to the PC
3.5 mm headset, connected to the headset icon on the GC553G2
3.5 mm AUX cable, connecting: Game console controller to the controller icon on the GC553G2

This configuration allows party chat audio to be properly routed between the console, capture card, headset, and PC.

3. Streaming Center and OBS Studio settings (general)

Video Capture Device: Select Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 (GC553G2) to capture gameplay video.
Audio Input Capture: Select Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 (GC553G2) to capture game audio and party chat audio.

Make sure the audio source is not muted and the volume level is properly adjusted in Streaming Center or OBS Studio.


Troubleshooting:

Q: After connecting, I don’t hear any sound.
A: The connection should be the same as with standard wired headphones. Please ensure that all connections are secure and that the host device is configured to output all audio to the headphones connected to the controller.

Q: I hear a buzzing sound in my headphones while recording.
A: If the controller is connected to a PlayStation 5, Xbox controller, or Switch and is also powered, a buzzing sound may occur due to a ground loop. Please ensure the controller is fully charged before use. If necessary, you may need to add a ground loop isolator between the controller and the host device.
