When official support asks me to capture a pass-through monitor EDID log using Assist Central Pro, how should I proceed?
First, please download our official Assist Central Pro software and follow the instructions shown in the reference video.
In addition, please carefully note the following important points:
Important Notes
1 Connection Setup
Please connect your devices in the following order:
Source → AVerMedia capture device → Pass-through monitor
2 EDID Mode Setting (Very Important)
Make sure Assist Central Pro is set to the default Merge Mode.
2-1 If it is not currently in Merge Mode, switch it to Merge Mode.
2-2 When switching to Merge Mode, you must replug the capture device to ensure the mode is correctly applied.
-For USB capture devices: unplug and reconnect the device.
-For PCIe capture cards: fully power off the PC and power it back on.
-Then, reopen Assist Central Pro and confirm that the EDID mode is set to Merge Mode.
(This ensures that Merge Mode is correctly applied.)
3 During Log Recording
Only after you start recording the log, follow the steps shown in the video to unplug and reconnect the HDMI cables between the capture device and the pass-through monitor.
4 Reconnecting the HDMI Cable
After unplugging and reconnecting the HDMI cable to the HDMI output port of the capture device, please make sure the pass-through monitor displays an image again.
Once the image is restored, wait about 10 seconds, then stop the recording in Assist Central Pro.
5 After Recording
Once the recording is complete, please send us the generated TXT log file.
Alternatively, you may verify yourself whether the pass-through monitor EDID log was successfully captured by checking for entries similar to the example below.
