Why does the preview image appear washed out, grayish, or overly saturated when using the capture card?

This issue is usually caused by a mismatch between the HDR (High Dynamic Range) settings of the video source and the capture software (OBS Studio / Streaming Center).
Please refer to the appropriate solution below based on your capture card model.

Scenario 1: Your capture card does NOT support HDR recording
(Applicable models:GC551G2, GC311G2, GC313Pro, GC515)

If your capture card does not support HDR capture, but your video source is outputting an HDR signal, the preview image may appear washed out, grayish, or have incorrect colors.
Please disable HDR on your video source and change the output to SDR.

  • iPhone / iPad
Go to : Settings > Display & Brightness > Turn off High Dynamic Range (HDR) or any related HDR display/recording settings.

  • Switch 2 / PS5 / Xbox Series X
Go to the console's display settings and set HDR to Off.

Scenario 2: Your capture card supports HDR recording, but the software settings are incorrect
(Applicable models:GC553G2, GC575, GC573, GC553Pro)

These capture cards support HDR recording. If the preview image still appears incorrect, it is likely because the capture software's color format is not configured correctly. Please ensure that your capture software is configured to match the HDR signal.

  • OBS Studio
For the Video Capture Device, configure the following settings:
  1. Video Format to P010
  2. Color Space to Rec. 2100 (PQ)

  • Streaming Center
Open Settings and set the Video Format for preview/recording to P010.
