1. Make sure the version of firmare of your capture card device is up to date.
2. Using a USB capture card? It might be a USB 3.0 compatibility issue.
Some AMD motherboards (such as B350, B450, B550, B650, etc.) may experience issues like audio dropouts or frame drops when using USB 3.0 capture devices. This is often related to the design of the motherboard’s USB controller. In particular, ports using non-native controllers (such as ASMedia or Renesas) may have reduced compatibility with high-bandwidth video devices.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1 Use the rear USB 3.2 Gen1 / Gen2 ports directly on the motherboard. Avoid front panel USB ports, USB hubs, or any ports connected to ASMedia/Renesas host controllers.
2 Update your BIOS and AMD chipset drivers. This can help improve USB stability.
3 Enter the BIOS and disable power-saving settings, such as “Global C-State Control” and “USB Standby Power.”
4 If the issue persists, try testing the capture card on a different motherboard to determine whether the problem lies with the capture card or the system.
If you’re unsure which USB controller your ports are using, we recommend checking your motherboard’s manual or contacting the manufacturer for assistance.
