FAQs

EzRecorder 130 - ER130

Because the ER130 records according to the resolution of its input source and can't make any alterations. All games have their own native resolutions, so if your game has a native resolution of 720p, then the ER130 will only receive 720p.
The longest recording time is 14 hours, and the device will automatically stop and prompt message. The shortest recording time is 6 seconds, and pressing record button won’t cause any action within that period.

Unplug and replug the HDMI cable and image will reappear.
Unfortunately, the ER130 can’t record Dolby 5.1 (channel) or 24p video format. Go to your console settings and change the audio to Auto to ensure proper output format (dual-channel PCM ). Please note that you can still pass through Dolby 5.1 and 24p signal while the ER130 is off.
Recording stops when the ER130 detects extremely poor write performance from your storage device. It’s recommended that you use a NTFS-formatted hard drive.
It means the storage space is low and your recording may stop shortly. Please stop the recording and either free up more space or switch storage device.
Unfortunately, the ER130 doesn’t support voice chat recording. We recommend you to go to our official website for product specifications and other related information:

If you need a device that can record voice chat during gameplay, we recommend our Game Capture HD II (C285). To know more about the C285 specifications, features, tutorials and see whether the product can meet your needs, please visit the link below.
You certainly can. The ER130 supports MP4 format so any PC media player that supports MP4 format (such as CyberLink PowerDirector 9, Windows Media Player 12 and VLC) can playback the recorded files.
The ER130 only supports single timed recording – Timer Recording, which can be set to record 1 Time (for one time event) or Daily (for same time on daily basis). If you want to record HD content from your TV setup box via HDMI, it will have to depend on whether it is HDCP protected; HDCP protected content can’t be recorded.
The ER130’s USB slot is USB 2.0, and it is compatible with USB 3.0 storage devices.
Legally, unless you have been duly licensed, we expressly advise that you DO NOT record copyrighted contents, particularly those with copy protection such as HDCP, to avoid breaking the law.
If you have been duly granted a license to record copyrighted contents, it is technically possible to use a splitter with our product; however, our warranty does not cover such usage, and AVerMedia will not be liable to any damage caused by such actions.
Please confirm whether your hard drive has encryption or not. Kindly note that ER130/ER310/C285/CR530 only supports MBR (master boot record) partition table, the encrypted hard drives however use GPT (GUID partition table).
The solution in this case is changing partition table format of hard drive from GPT to MBR.

1. Try re-installing the storage device. It may take longer for EZ Recorder 130 to detect the storage device if there are too many files in the disk.
2. Format your storage device to NTFS file system on PC. We recommend using "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool"
