AVERMEDIA’S HI-DEFINITION ATSC TV TUNER CARD WINS CES AWARD

AVerMedia is very pleased to announce that its new UltraTV HD 1800 MCE Hi-Definition ATSC TV tuner card for watching and recording digital TV programs on PCs has been honored with an Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase awards from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The product was recognized in the Computer Components category and will be showcased at the 2005 International CES in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2005.

The UltraTV HD 1800 MCE is a digital terrestrial television tuner card that allows consumers to access free digital TV signals using a VHF/UHF antenna directly from their PCs. Designed for Microsoft’s Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 for converging home computing and entertainment, it can be used to watch live Hi-Definition television on PCs or to record and save digital TV programs directly to the PC’s hard drive in the original digital format.

This is the fourth consecutive year that AVerMedia products have been honored in CES’ Innovations competition, and that reflects the company’s understanding of where the market is headed as well as our engineering and design expertise.

Since 1989, the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase at CES has given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of industry designers, engineers and journalists. AVerMedia’s product met the judges’ stringent criteria for user value, aesthetics, contributions to the quality of life, and innovative design and qualities. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) endorses and acts as advisors to the program.
