2005 More than 300 volunteers responded to "Clean Up the World in Taiwan"
Environmental protection issue now an important issue, AVerMedia requires that its products and processed items to be 100% lead-free. Furthermore, AVerMedia contribute to the society in practical action, participating the "Clean Up the World in Taiwan".
On September 17, a large number of AVerMedia's employees and volunteers responded to the "Clean up the world in Taiwan" activity. AVerMedia has consecutively participated in this activity for four years. Led by General Manager, Mr. Kou, 324 participators of AVerMedia colleagues and their families voluntarily joined and cleaned the nearby Gin-ho Park. Mr. Kuo believed that participating in this activity demonstrates the company's environment policy.
A VerMedia gave backpacks to encourage the residents and volunteers to clean up our environment. They believed by keeping on doing this, there would be more and more people who would participate in the "Clean Up the World in Taiwan" in the future.
"Clean Up the World" is a global organization founded by Ian Kiernan. Every year, more than 40 millions people from over 120 countries joined this event. In 1987, Ian completed an around-the-world yacht race. On his journey, he saw the amount of rubbish chocking in the oceans. After returning home, Ian started an event aptly named "Clean Up Australia", which received enormous public response in Australia. In 1993, the United Nation Environment Porgramme (UNEP) started promoting this community-activity to become a global campaign, "Clean Up the World". They want people around the world can do something to protect the environment. With the help of Goodneighbor Organization and Clean Up Australia, Clean Up the World in Taiwan was launched in 2001.
